Losing quills
Ok I'm the girl with the wild Egyptian long eared hedgehog. I took him out of his box just now and took out the fleece and noticed he lost 2 small quills.. Is that normal? I have no idea how old he is or anything, I just assumed he is an adult and already went thru quilling. I gave him a back rub as usual and he loved it as usual.. Laid his quills down while I rubbed and petted him. There were no bald spots or loose quills on him.

Re: Losing quills
It's not uncommon to lose a few quills I'd say. If he starts to lose more and gets bald spots it could be because of mites.

Re: Losing quills
After further inspection I noticed he had a few broken off quills on him. He hasn't last any more. I think it was bc he was scared at first and popping at everything, maybe he bumped into something hard and they broke off.
