Default Pooping and Peeing Problems

Hi there,

I just got my knucles 2 weeks ago and he seems to have issues with pooping and peeping.

Last week when i carried him in my arms, he started to poop, followed by peeing all over my pants and this week for three straight das, when ever he's on my lap or in my arms, he never hesitate to poop and pee on me.

Is this normal or I have done something wrong that encourages him to defecate on me.

This is very normal for a baby hedgie. They do not have control over their bowels yet and go pretty much everywhere. Hedgies often go when they are in new places too from simply being scared/nervous so that is another contributor. It sounds like everything is okay with your hedgie.

How old is it by the way?

How old is Knuckles? Babies just tend to poop/pee a lot because they don't have very good control over their bowels yet. It usually helps to wake them up, and then to let them do their business before you take them out for bonding

i got him when his is about 2 months plus old. he started quilting on the second day when i got him. He seems to get used to me touching/handling him quite well.

How old does a hedgehog consider as an adult.

I have read that hedgehogs are considered adults after 6 months.

Does it usually happen after he has been awake for 5-10 minutes?
I usually wake up Durzo around 10pm hold him for about a minute, give him fresh food and water then put him back in his cage - he will eat then he goes poop and pee after a few minutes then we "bond" after that. Maybe give him sometime when you first get your lil' one up - afterall when we initially wake up we generally go to the bathroom haha.
