Some don't like / get excited over the smell of other hedgies. From what I know it's usually males, which is why at shows males are shown first and then females. My boy gets VERY excited and happy whenever he smells a girl.

I never really thought about it in all my hedgehog experience , but I have one male and i was thinking what if he is acting all huffy because i handle the girls first vice versa same with the girls.

I do have one boy who gets a little huffy if I've held another male first. Nothing serious though. However, I do have a couple of girls who will annoint repeatedly if they smell another hedgie on my hands.
