Default getting the cage temp fixed

any ideas on how to get heggie cage to be at a good temp for him ideas on heating please help i thought if my heat was set at 75 hed be fine but his cage is all over the place from 60-83 in the last 24 hours and im concerned

That's definitely a concern! I agree with pink-ster, a ceramic heat emitter would probably be best to keep his cage at a steady temp. Make sure you're also keeping a close eye on him and his behavior until you get the CHE set up (as soon as you can). The huge range in temperature (and the lower temperatures) could cause a hibernation attempt. Signs to look for include decrease in activity, wobbly walking, and a cool belly. If he seems to be attempting hibernation, you need to warm him up right away. The best way to do this is just to stick him under your shirt - your body heat will safely heat him up without risking burns. If you don't want to do that, a human heating pad set on low will also work, but make sure you stay right there with him until he's warm. Don't put him back into his cage until his belly is nice and toasty again.
