Default Keeping infant warm on the car ride home

We are picking up our baby hedgehog on April 14th. It has been warm here in Maryland the past 2 weeks. I am concerned that if the temps drop or even if they don't (it's 81 today), my husband will have the air on in the car. I wanted to know if I should buy the hand warmers and place them in with the fleece to keep the baby warm on the way home? Is that the best way to keep a heat source close to them? I would appreciate any thoughts on this. It would be about 45mins to an hour back to our house.

hand warmers in a sock works. But if its 81 i dont think it should be necissay. You can always put a thermometer in the carrier. I know hedgehogs arnt supposed to be exposed to drafts of any kind so as long as you keep the a/c from blowing directly on them should be okay. Some one can correct me if im worng.

Thank you that helps a great deal. The weather has been oddly warm here. It is supposed to drop back into the 60's this coming week. I just want to be prepared if I need them. That gives me a good guideline
