Science Diet is okay, but not the best. I would try to find another food, like something off the list that Coribelle linked. You want to look for protein 35% or below, fat around 15% (higher if Max is a baby or if he runs a lot, lower if he's overweight or an average hedgie). You also want to look for a meat or meat meal as the first ingredient, and no corn. Some of the popular brands on here are Innova, Natural Balance, Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul, Solid Gold, and Blue Buffalo. Also, you might consider getting him on two foods instead of just one - sometimes companies will change formulas with no notice and hedgies will go on a food strike. Or you might run out of the food and not be able to get more right away. If you have two they're used to, you're less likely to have to panic and try to make sure they're eating enough.

There is also a great Petsmart brand food called Simply Nourish that is not on the list and that I like to brag about a lot hahaha! They have a flavor that is called Turkey and Oatmeal, and the analysis and ingredients are perfect:

Ingredients:
Turkey, Turkey Meal, Oatmeal, Rice Flour, Dried Chicken, Tomato Pomace, Natural Flavor, Canola Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols), Dried Chicory Root, Flaxseed, Dried Cranberries, Dried Carrots, Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, L-ascorbyl-polyphosphate, Vitamin A Supplement, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Vitamin D Supplement, Folic Acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement), Minerals (Zinc Sulfate, Ferric Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite), Choline Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Taurine.

Analysis:
Crude Protein Not less than 32.0%
Crude Fat Not more than 10.0%
Crude Fiber Not less than 5.0%

All that and only 8.99$ for a 3.5lb bag. I love it and so does my little girl, so I love to share it around since no one is really aware that it exists. Though if you don't have a Petsmart near you then I suppose this wouldn't really help much haha
