HELP!! change of behavior..WORRIED DAD

hi my hedgie is acting odd today. he clicks continously when i pick him up and rolls into a tight ball(usually he'd click once or twice but thats it then he would quickly unroll and start sniffing things with his cute little nose). his food intake has decreased drastically and ive noticed that he wasnt that happy/excited munching on his mealies anymore.

found a few spines on his play mat. would it be possible that this change in behavior is just because of quilling? he's a 9 week old cutie

totally fine yesterday. ate and drank lots, wheeled for quite a while too. so sad to see him like this...... HELP PUHLEAZEEE?

Quilling is a definite possibility at that age. Just keep an eye on the food and water intake and don't stop handling him, even though he's extra grumpy.

Hilde is currently quilling and she has her good days and her bad days. I would just continue your normal routine and if it is just quilling, it should pass soon and he should be back to his normal self.

He is GORGEOUS, by the way.

quilling could be a good possibility, what about his heating & light schedule, what are those like?

he gets 12hrs of light daily and i bought a space heater just for him. i keep it at around 76-80 at least :)

I would be careful not to let the temp get over 79, the 80's are gonna be too high. And if you can, try to keep the temperature as constant as possible, say 75 or 76 degrees all day long. Higher temperatures and temperature fluctuations could keep him from wanting to do too much physical stuff.
