Isn't interested in new food?
3 Attachment(s)
Hi hedgepeople! I was just curious if any of you have experienced this. So, Daisy likes her kibble, and loves munching on mealies. I feel like I have to put it in front of her face before she'll notice it. I also tried bananas, sweet potato baby food and chicken and gravy baby food and she didn't pay any mind to them. She didn't even try it. I was hoping she would go crazy on it :( Do i just have a picky eater or what? Oh and I added some pictures, I just love showing her off ;)

Re: Isn't interested in new food?
If she's eating mealies, that's more than some hedgehogs. My Archimedes would eat absolutely nothing but kibble, until I finally offered him watermelon after 5-6 weeks of trying new things. Even with that he wouldn't eat it right away, but he finished the little bit I put in a bowl in his cage overnight, which is better than anything else. He still won't touch mealies, and I have yet to find anything else besides the watermelon. So, yes, sounds like you just have a picky hedgehog - it's not uncommon! Some of them will come around to a particular new thing if you offer it repeatedly, and for some it's a matter of finding just the right thing, but some hedgehogs will go their wholes lives and ignore anything but kibble.
