Default Just got a hedgie

I got a hedgehog named Kip a few days ago and she is 12 weeks. She's been eating Zoo Vital hedgehog food for her whole life as far as I know, and I heard that's really bad for them. Also her poop is green and mucusy, is that normal since she is still in a new home? She walks around sometimes and sniffs things but she sleeps a lot and there's like an hour in the day when she goes exploring but isn't that normal for babies? She is dehydrated I think because I pinched her skin and it stayed there for a few seconds but I put her water bowl in her igloo and she's started drinking. She is so silly because she will go into small spaces and get stuck or fall off things and I get so worried but she is okay.

You need to get her off Zoo Vital and switch her onto high quality cat or dog food. Yes, babies do tend to sleep a lot more, so her sleeping a lot is normal. Don't forget to change the water daily, and make sure you have a proper heating set up. It's good to hear she's okay, hedgies just love tight spaces! Congrats on your new baby!!

You need to make the change slowly and not before 2 weeks ofmy U having her so she adjusts to her new environment and you can see her normal behavior and see if something is not right with the new food.

You mention she falls a lot, from where? They have poor eyesight so all ramps and upper levels should be completely enclosed.
