Default My Hedgy is very sick.

Hello everyone, before I start I just want to say that I have been browsing this forum for days now and have not found a similar case to what my hedgy has.

About a week ago my hedgy Hootie start leaning to one side, at first he could walk fine he just had a little slant. Later that day he couldn't even walk. I booked a vet appt. that night and when I woke up he was in a ball, as if he was trying to hibernate, but the house was at the same temp it has always been at with no problems. The Vet appt. was in two days so I tried everything I could to get him to come out, he wasn't making any noises or responding to touches but i did manage to get him to eat some food and get some water in him. So I got him to the vet and they couldn't get him to come out of a ball to examine him. They sent me home with him without doing any x-rays and gave me medicine called Metacam Oral which they described as an anti-inflamatory and gave me 14 days worth of medicine.A day after the vet he came out of his ball and I started syringe feeding him food and water along with his meds, that's when I noticed that he has gone tottaly blind. On top of him being blind he couldn't use his back legs to walk. It has been 4 days since he came out of a ball and he still can't walk. He can move both his back and front legs perfectly when he is on his back, but he can only use his front legs to crawl when he's on his stomach and seems to be protecting his back legs. The vet said he doesn't have WHS because of how fast it affected him and told me to keep giving him his medicine for 2 weeks and then bring him back. I'm just wondering if anyone has had anything similar happen to their hedgy. If anyone has any advice for me I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Also he has been eating just fine but his poop is very small and he can't get the poop out without some help..

I wonder if he could have had a stroke or if he has an injury. I had a cat that lost the use of her back end suddenly abandoned it turned out to be a blood clot in her spinal column. All you can do for now is keep her on the meds and keep syringe feeding her.
