I've never heard of that particular litter. Has anyone? I know that a lot of hedgehog owners including myself use Yesterdays News (not the actual newspaper but a brand of paper litter).

No you don't need a light by the cadge. I know that Herisson would freak if I had a light by his cadge. He would not come out that night. Hedgehogs like it dark and quiet at night when their doing their rounds.

I would suggest using something like Yesterday's news for cat litter, the clumping cat litters aren't a good idea.

For a light at night I would say 100% no, hedgies like it to be dark when they are up and some may not get up and eat or run on their wheels if there is any light or noise.

I too use Yesterday's News. it's basically the same shape and size as the one that you bought. I've never used it though, so I'm not sure how it would be for hedgies.

As for the light, definately not at night. Hedgehogs need 12-14hours of light, so normal daylight hours, with a lamp addition for substitution during the current winter daylight hours. When it's nighttime, they love the dark dark rooms, no light. It's the only way mine will come out, is if all the lights were off.

I see; I'm just afraid he's going to try to eat the little pieces. Yesterday I saw him go sniff it and then go to his food bowl and eat, so maybe he knows its not food but i want to be sure. do they ever try to eat it?
