Default Flakes on bedding?

My husband and I recently bought an 8 week old female albino hedgehog. We are very fortunate in that she is extremely sweet; hasn't balled up or hissed at anyone, despite being woken up and held numerous times by many curious people this last week! Our only concern is that she has left lots of flakes on her bedding. She does itch sometimes, but not an excessive amount, and her skin doesn't seem to be red. She also left a quill or two, but we're assuming it's from the itching. She doesn't have any patches of quills missing. We would like to know if this is normal and if she just needs a moisturizing bath, or if it could possibly mites? Thank you!

I forgot to mention, she also has what appears to be a dry patch of skin on one of her feet. I'll get a pic later when she is awake and upload it.

Do the flakes move? If so it's mites. Freeze the bedding for 24+ hours prior to putting it in the cage.

At 8 weeks old she's probably starting to quill which would explaining the quills falling out and the dry skin that is flaking. You can give her an oatmeal bath to help soothe her skin.

We gave her a bath last night with Aveeno oatmeal body wash. She did great She is still itchy, but we believe that it is because she's quilling. Also, the dry spot on her paw came right off in the water. Thank you!
