Default Bonding right away?

I just got my hedgehog a couple hours ago and he's just a big ball of angry lol should I start bonding with him right away or wait a day or two? So far I put a t-shirt I've been sleeping in in the cage and he's sniffing and chewing on it.

I was told when I got my hedgie, to put him in this cage and leave him for 12/24 hours (making sure he had food/water but not disturbing him) so he can get used to his new surroundings and feel more safe. I don't know if that's the right thing to do though, but it worked for me

That depends more on the hedgie and owner, I started bonding the same night I brought him home and he was perfectly fine with it.

yeh, most things depend on the hedgehog, but was just saying what i did.
tbh, I probably could have done as well as my hedgie is very sociable and friendly. But I decided to follow the breeders guidance, as i thought it must be quite stressful, so wanted to give him time to get used to the new surroundings on his own

Thanks guys my hedgehog is 2 years old already his owners didn't have time for him anymore so he's now not used to being handled when he was super friendly and social :/ I'm hoping he'll come around eventually he's just super freaked out right now but he annoited to my smell last night which is a good sign!

Patience, time and everyday handling for at least 30imutes.

Some people say with rehomed it can take easily up to a year.

Yeah I feel like that might end up happening... if I stay still he'll open up and explore but otherwise very huffy. He hisses even when I just stand by the cage but I'm going to keep pushing and hopefully make progress eventually!
