Every time i take her out of the cage to clean it in the morning she has the dirtiest feet from pooping and running on her cage all night, is there a good way to clean them? thank you

Foot Bath just water about an inch or so deep that's warm and a tooth brush or a moist wash cloth

I got her last Saturday, so almost a week but she's still pretty shy and grumpy. I dont think she'll be letting me touch her feet:P Could i just let her walk around in the water to try and help? For drying do i just lay her in a towel, or is there a good way? thank you!

That will work normally the water keeps them from balling up and sometimes the toothbrush is needed if its caked on their feet really good.

Okay, ill try giving her one today. Just a quick question, is their poop supposed to be wet? its not like pure liquid, more like a thick paste. thank you!

As long as it is like a thick toothpaste it is fine. Dry stool is a sign of constipation in a hedgehog. It should hold its form though, but be easily squished between your fingers.

Depending on how badly her feet get dirty, you can also just use a wet wash cloth for them to walk around on to help soften the poop. I have had a few that didn't get badly dirty feet and just using a wash cloth worked fine.

To help with cleaning her feet, start touching them and playing with them when she is out with you. It also helps get her familiar with having her feet touched for nail clippings.

Okay good, i did get her from a breeder that only fed her iams. Which i found that is bad for a hedgie long term, so i switched her to a mix of chicken soup and performatrin ultra and her poop didnt change at all. the only time it was different was bringing her home in the car, it was green, but i read that could be from stress. After like a half day it went back to normal looking, exactly like a toothpaste texture and no weird colour. I tried the little foot bath and all she did was freak, gonna try the wet cloth probably tomorrow. Thank you!
