Default Noises?

Didn't really know where to throw this topic

Zephyr's cage is currently sitting in the basement with me. Every other sunday my sister has drums lessons in the house though, and her drums are also in the basement (basement is one big room) Is this going to bother zeph? should I take him out of the room these days

I would probably take him out of the room while she drums, I know when my ex boyfriend used to play drums in the basement when I was down there I had to wear earplugs and hedgies have pretty sensitive ears so I would definitely move her

kay- I don't know much about hedgehog hearing and figure it didn't hurt to post a nice little topic on it. I do alot of vaccumming around his cage (it's on the floor in my room) She has an electric drum set too so when she is practiving by herself she can put on headphones at least.

posting is always good especially when you are unsure about something i agree with the drum set being too much noise for hedgies. only other thing i might mention is with winter right around the corner you might consider putting the cage on something up off the floor as it can get really cold on the floor and cause hibernation attempts. vacuuming around the cage is fine as it is generally quick, but once again with the cage being on the floor i'm not sure if the vibrations from the vacuum might stress a hedgie.

Yeah, I'd take him upstairs as well. My little guy jumps at a single explosion during a movie that isn't turned up that loud. He's often in the same room as me when I have my bass amp on, but it at least has a volume knob so I can turn it down really low. I couldn't imagine them trying to endure the racket a drum kit makes.

Our town had a festival this last weekend. Saturday night they had fireworks and while my husband and were watching them on the porch, Harvey was tearing up his cage. He freaked out. I cuddled him for a while until he drifted off, then put him back in his cage. He seemed alright after that, but I dont' know what I'm going to do next year. All the windows and doors were closed. But while we were outside, the booms set off one of the car alarms across the street. Izzy, the huffy, scared hedgie seemed unaffected. I checked on her and she was wheeling like nothing happened.
