I trained Delia just like you would train a cat. When she pooped somewhere, I moved (as much of it as I could) to her litter box. Then, when I caught her in the act, I would move it, and then put her in the litter box, so she would associate the two together. And now, Delia only poops in her potty and on her wheel, when she doesn't feel like getting off to poop

I did the same thing with Norman during our snuggle time. When I caught him in the middle of or getting ready to answer nature's call with wild abandon, I'd quickly scoop him up and drop him in the litter box. When he was done, I'd give him a treat so that he'd associate going in the litter box with tasty treats.

you guys nailed it. If I can pick him up while he's doing the business, I'll put him right in the box so he can finish. Most of the time though I had to wait til he was done, then placed him in the litterbox with the poop. He learned pretty quickly. Now if only he could stop letting go of his bowels when running.
Can you imagine if humans had no control when they ran on the treadmill?

Thanks, this is going to really help me out a lot. Everytime I have caught Chloe in the act I would rush her to the litter box and give her a treat afterwards. Lately I just think shes being lazy because she goes a little bit then when I take her back out, she goes on me. I may have to wait just a little bit longer to be sure that she is done for sure. Thanks for the input

I would like to find him a more permanent litter box, but I need to find something with enough room for his CSBW and for him to do his duty without taking up too much cage space. Here's my temporary solution: I took the top to a shoebox and cut off one of the sides so he can easily walk into it, and I've been lining it with layered paper towels. It's made my life A LOT easier because the paper towel seems to catch what's on his feet when he comes off his wheel so he doesn't drag it around his cage so much.
