Default Pooing on the walls of the litter box?

Hi, my hedgehog is litter trained but when I go to clean his poop, it's all over the walls of the litter box. When I first got him, he poo'd all over the walls, so i'm wondering why he does that

Is there a way I can have him poop ON the litter instead of on the walls?

Sometimes but a hedgehog is not a dog they will kind of do their business as they please.

You can try to show them but hedgehogs are who they are sometimes if not most of the time

My hedgie Loken does that. He is litter trained but every so often he will do his little stance and back all the way up to the wall before going, Loken actually gets his coroplast wall because I don't have a litter box but a mat and papertowel. I'm not sure why he does, my guess is that he feels very safe wedged in like that, it's almost always at the corner and I've seen him do it before so that's how I came to the guess.

Forgot to add and can't edit.

When that happens its not really hard to clean and the way I found easiest is to grab with a piece of toliet paper, if its still wet it will stick to the tp and if its dry it will fall right off when pulled. Then I just squirt a little vinegar/water solution wait a few seconds and wipe. Cleans it right up
