Do they ever slow down??

My little girl never stops moving! She's always in one of two phases: Sleep or exploring.

I set up a good area for her to run around in for a couple hours every night and it's adorable, but man I wish she'd just sit still for a few minutes so I can get a clear picture of her!

She seems calm and happy, can often hear her snorting and sniffing around, though she does one thing that is a little odd. The walls of her play pen are flat cardboard (so she can't climb), but she'll stand on her tippy-toes and try to reach the top until she falls over, then run around a bit and do it again somewhere else. This is in between playing with the tunnels and pillows.

Is this normal for a young hedgie (about 3 months old)? Will she calm down ever, or should I just expect her to keep doing this?

Totally depends on your hedgehog! Mine is pretty content to sleep all day and then run on his wheel all night, but some days as soon as the sun goes down he runs all over the place and wants to see what I'm up to on my computer. Sometimes he falls back asleep with his face smushed between the food bowl and the cage wall

Hedgehogs have personalities like people. Some people (like me) are happy to lay on the couch all day, whereas others can't sit still for five minutes without having to get up and find something to do.
