Default Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome?

I just have a simple question (no worries, my hedgie Pancake is not showing signs of this), I'm a little curious.

So, Idk what it's like for people with multiple sclerosis, if it's painful and whatnot. I guess my question is, is wobbly hedgehog syndrome painful for hedgehogs? Do their muscles, or nerves ache? Can they feel everything going wrong? Cause I know rescue societies take care of hedgehogs with this unfortunate disease, but if they feel it, isn't "taking care of them" just making them suffer?

Can't say if they feel the pain but they could definitely feel if something is wrong with themselves. Most hedgies suffering from WHS isn't going to live long so caring for it for as long as possible is the most humane thing to do. Unless of course your heart can take going to the vet and putting the little fella down

Oh no, if my babygirl had wobbly hedgehog syndrome I would take care of her for as long as I possibly could. I just hope that it wouldn't be making her suffer

There are some excellent resources available from the Hedgehog Welfare Society on their website.

There are links to a lady that made little ramps and supports for her hedgie and tips about food, exercise and all that are really great ideas. I think her website was angelfire or something.

Anyway the HWS has some information available. Check it out, so you know what's there.
