Default Is she a big, brave girl now?

I came home from work and checked on the hedgies. It was a wee bit cooler in their cages (about 23 degrees) and one of Erin's heat lamps had gone out! She was sleeping underneath her liner so I went to wake her up but when I touched her she didn't move or huff. I automatically panicked thinking she had gone into hibernation but when I moved the liner she was wide awake and fine. Even now she's acting weird and isn't huffing at me like she normally does. She's digging about on me under a blanket and we're cuddling a snuggle safe disk but I'm a bit concerned. Has she suddenly become fearless or is she not well? I've checked her nose and it's not dripping or overly wet so I don't think it's a respiratory infection. Maybe she's just used to me interfering now!

It sounds like she's just gotten used to you! Keep an eye on her but don't worry too much!

She may have just gotten too cold and was drowsy. All hedgies, no matter how used to you they are, should huff when first touched in their cage. It is a natural defensive response.
