Question Befriending?

My hedgehog Reggie is almost instantly tamed when I give him a 1 minute bath in the sink, but is there another way? Like, on youtube people just pick up their hedgehog and manhandle them and they don't seem to care! How can I get that far with Reggie?

Patience and daily handling.

Tee shirt trick works magic, wear a teeshirt for a day or two so it gets your scent and put it in with him so he gets used to your smell.

Make sure to take him out EVERY SINGLE DAY, even if its only for 30 minutes. No matter how much he huffs and puffs keep him out.

My man Thorin is a rescue and we are still learning how to be friends, he is afraid of the open spaces so I put him on my lap with a little blanket over him and he sleeps on my legs.

Patience and persistence will help him become better to handle, there is no short cut.

Also, accept that your hedgie may never like being handled. We are living in their worlds, not the other way around. He will probably become more tolerant, but he may never seek your attention or want to play with you.

Good Luck!

Smile Thx

He really likes me though. He sort of cuddles with me and stuff. Maybe it's not the sink, and it's because I have him out. I used to do the t-shirt trick, and I could pet him all the time. I don't know why I forgot about it. THX!
