I have to be careful with animals with fur. Never used to be sensitive, but have gotten much more so as I get older. That is one reason I got Sophie. I haven't had any problem with her. Plus, she needs a foot bath at least every other day, so she kind of gets an automatic belly wash at the same time.

The quills don't bother me much, but I definitely had an 'event'. I didn't notice it at the time, but I must have gotten a single prick in a finger that reacted. It was definitely not infected, nor fluid filled, but felt like it was super swollen and hurt like heck; exceptionally sensitive.

Even though there wasn't anything to drain, I finally lanced it and soaked it in hydrogen peroxide for half an hour about three times a day for a couple of days. It improved pretty quick after starting with the soaking. Guess I got stuck with a contaminated quill. Could have been anything. Got a bit of a hard spot where I made the cut; it'll probably go away.

I do wash up pretty thoroughly (to the elbows) after together time, just in case. (I have to wash my hands with 'her' soap before together time, or I'll there's a good chance that I'll get bit. New tastes or smells on my hands will not go untasted, and she bites pretty darn hard. When she gets big, she'll probably be able to take a finger off.
