Red face hedgie behavior

Hello!

Just writing to get some opinions on my hedgies behavior. I have a 5-month hedgie baby that I got in 2 months ago. Within the last few weeks, he has been warming up to me. If I pick him up he will come right out and he doesn't pop as much if I pet him now. The thing that is concerning me is when I put him on my lap for play time he will just run to the corner and stay there unless I move him. Sometimes he will stick his head out but generally, he will just crawl right along with my arm and stay there until I put him away. Is this just because he is still young? or should I be worried that something is wrong? I don't know yet if this is just how he behaves but I just wanted to make sure this isn't a sign of something. If I put him down he sometimes walks a little. After I give him a bath he goes crazy and is constantly running around. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

I'm definitely no expert, but sometimes hedgies are tired and don't want to play. Other times they never want to stop running. It all depends on your hedgie. I wouldn't worry, but again, I'm no expert. I hope I helped a little!

That's pretty normal, it sounds like you have a cuddler.

My Hazel does the same thing, and from what I've been told, some hedgehogs are just like that! Hazel would rather curl up in my lap and nap then run around and explore! I usually sit watching TV or reading, and let her root around in her fleece blanket or snuggle sack on my lap. She'll splat out or curl up and just chill. Like Nikki said, you just have a cuddler! Enjoy!
