Default Bored of his cage?

can a hedgehog get bored of his cage setup if you don't change it up?

Floyd stopped wheeling in his cage. I've been staying up all night lately with the laptop on(backlight on lowest brightness), but sometimes I don't, and the wheel is clean in the morning. He's never been the type to hate light. He never needed total darkness to run. I have been taking him out at all hours of the night though, so I think it's time to go back to not touching him after 12.

I don't think he's sick because he eats the same, and loves to wheel when we're on my bed. He goes sprinting actually, he's so fast, just like Sonic

I just feel bad for this little guy, knowing he's supposed to be living in the wild, but instead he's stuck in my room all his life. I feel like he's not really happy. To add to his misery, I stopped buying pet store mealworms because they're overpriced, been meaning to go buy in bulk but haven't done it yet.

Most hedgehogs prefer things to stay the same and get upset with changes. I have had more that one that would totally trash their cages if everything wasn't in exactly the same place when I cleaned the cage.

I guess it depends on how well your hedgie accepts change. I change Rainey's about every 4-5 weeks because the cardboard gets soiled, so I take the opportunity to change up a few things. As long as I don't change her wheel, she seems fine with it. I added some 2L bottles this time around. It makes a good divider between her sleeping/eating area and her play area. I attached a picture of her current setup.
